Know the hardware.
Before the colour.
A brake set is a system of parts. Begin with the vehicle, the axle and the wheel, then compare the complete specification.

The original setup
stays part of the decision.
The model badge is a starting point. Keep the equipment fitted now and the intended use with the exact selected kit.
- Vehicle & axle
- Record the model, generation, production details and original brake package. Establish front, rear or both axles explicitly; a photograph does not define the supplied scope.
- Intended use
- Discuss ordinary road use, occasional track use or a dedicated competition application. Do not infer braking performance or road approval from caliper size, piston count or appearance.
- Rear parking brake
- Identify the original parking-brake arrangement, including an electronic parking brake where fitted. Confirm how the exact rear kit retains its operation.
Diameter is
only one dimension.
The caliper, disc, wheel barrel and spoke shape need to be reviewed as an exact combination.
- Kit-specific template
- Ask for the manufacturer’s clearance template or drawing for the exact kit and follow its checking instructions. A template for another caliper or disc combination is not interchangeable.
- The wheel fitted now
- Record wheel diameter, width, offset and design. Check the barrel, spokes, balance weights and required clearances using the kit-specific method.
- Any proposed changes
- Discuss spacers, different wheels or other changes with a qualified specialist before treating them as a solution. A car-photo preview cannot measure clearance.
One written
bill of materials.
Two photographs can show similar hardware while representing different contents. Keep every supplied and separately required part explicit.
- The hardware
- Confirm axles, calipers, disc diameter and thickness, disc construction, hats or bells, pads and any required brackets. Establish side, handedness and quantities.
- The fitting parts
- List fixings, hoses, adaptors, parking-brake components and instructions. Confirm what is included and what the installer must obtain separately.
- Fitting & future service
- Use the exact manufacturer’s fitting and bedding instructions. Keep pad and disc references, replacement availability and support terms with the agreed specification.
Show what is fitted now.
Keep a clear view of each relevant wheel and brake, the wheel specification and details of the original brake package. Ask the supplier which measurements or template checks are needed.
Before you choose.
Will a larger wheel always clear the kit?
No. Barrel shape, spoke profile, offset and the exact caliper and disc combination also matter. Use the kit-specific clearance method.
Does the product image show everything included?
Confirm a written bill of materials for the exact version. Images may show a different axle, arrangement or optional components.
Does selecting a logo establish the hardware manufacturer?
No. Logo and finish controls describe appearance. They do not establish origin, authenticity, certification or braking performance.
Can I order directly from the brake configurator?
The current brake configurations record your choices for review. Exact hardware, fitment, availability, delivery and price need confirmation; online checkout is unavailable.
